YOU ARE VALUABLE

Written by Phyllis. Posted in Articles

Luke 12:6-7

Are not five sparrows sold for two cents? Yet not one of them is forgotten before God. 7"Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows.

God knows you better than you know yourself.  Do you know the number of hairs on your head?  I am continually humbled by God's love and watchful care over each one of us.  You are not forgotten and the word says do not fear because we are very valuable to God.  He has a plan and a purpose for each one of us and it is His hope that we fulfill that purpose that only you can fulfill.

One True God - Part 2

Written by Phyllis. Posted in Articles

In part 1, we laid out God's process of identifying Himself through a people born of His friend, Abraham, delivered by His servant Moses, giving human origin to His Son, Jesus. Largely rejected, Jesus nonetheless purchased the redemption of that people with His body and blood; a service that was largely ignored by Abraham's descendants. So now, because of the mandate given to the apostle Paul, the good news of the heavenly kingdom coming to earth could be preached to the Gentiles.

One True God - Part 1

Written by Phyllis. Posted in Articles

If there is only one true God, why is there so much activity and propaganda to the contrary? Allah, who is obviously a different person than the Christian God , claims the allegiance of millions and has for centuries. Even the God of the Jews cannot be the Christian God, as He denies the Messiahship of Jesus! And this is just the big three; it would take volumes to account for and describe the hundreds if not thousands of " one true gods" worshipped throughout the earth! If we just narrow our focus to the God of Abraham when Jesus walked the earth as an adult, we begin to understand the plethora of gods. They arise from the imaginations of stubborn humans.

HANG ON

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are for good and not for disaster. to give you a future and a hope.

Whatever you are facing today, and sometimes I know it seems as if all is lost, that this is the "big one"- I want to encourage you that nothing is too big for Almighty God.
The storms of life come but we must know that God has his eyes on us and He is watching over you.

Our True Idenity

Written by Phyllis. Posted in Articles

We must die to ourselves and part of that is dying to a need for acceptance and approval. Of the many idols that we as well meaning but human followers of Jesus put before God, the need for acceptance and approval is a tough one to get beyond.  A large part of the book of Job is Job dying to nonsensical ideas about God as espoused by his friends and finding himself very isolated as a result of his suffering not a result of unrighteousness . His God ordained journey and revelation brought on a separation from these men who were very good friends of Job.
So the negative is we reject popular ideas and concepts and find ourselves ostracized and alone , but the positive is that we know the truth and the truth sets us free.
